Summit Academy was fortunate to receive a grant from Donors Choose for a Canon DSLR camera. Students and staff have enjoyed using it to create a Photo Gallery sharing highlights of our year. Visit our Photo Gallery Page, and thanks to all the generous funders on Donors Choose.

On April 21, we welcomed special guest Dr. Radley M. Horton, Associate Research Scientist with Columbia University's Earth Institute. Dr. Horton is also a researcher involved with the National Climate Assessment and institutions looking at the effect of climate change specifically on the Northeast. "He knows so much about what's happening," commented one student. "And he speaks really clearly and understandably about complicated ideas."

The first Summit Academy Reading book for 2014 was Darius & Twig, by Walter Dean Myers. It's a good read! We gave every student a free book to keep.
